Introducing EDGE Manufacturing

EDGE Manufacturing GmbH, founded in April 1999, has its facility in Buchholz (an outskirts of Hamburg, Germany). There is a welding and distribution center for all EDGE's products in Europe.

Furthermore, many of EDGE's products are produced to the customers' specification. Among these are a line of professional cutlery, grinder plates and knives and deli slicer blades.

Product Development

With an eye to the future, EDGE realizes that product development is not a luxury, but rather a matter of survival.

EDGE's marketing staff is highly skilled at defining and solving its customers' problems regarding cutting edges. It is this group that is primarily responsible for discovering the innovations for which EDGE is known.

EDGE's Engineered Products Group designs and builds innovative equipment for industries related to the core business of meat and wood cutting. Among these products are the state of the art butt flash welder and newly designed band saw blade cut off machine.

The Engineering EDGE

EDGE is active in several highly competitive markets. In order to effectively compete in these markets, EDGE excels at engineering and process control.

Process control (quality management) is a key ingredient to the success of EDGE's product lines. To insure the consistency of these product lines, EDGE has on staff a Metallurgical Engineer, whose responsibility it is to establish the specifications of all raw materials and products, and then insure that manufacturing complies with those standards. This is an ongoing project requiring extensive documentation and training of line personnel.

The Engineering Department is charged with the task of maintaining the companies' strategic and technical competitive advantage. To accomplish this, extensive machinery design and redesign of existing equipment is done. Highly skilled in CAD and 3-D modeling, this department can design and build needed equipment. An extensive and modern machine shop means EDGE gets parts when needed.

EDGE Manufacturing, Inc., located on an 11-acre campus in Pevely Missouri (an outskirts of St. Louis, USA), is an engineering oriented manufacturing company. EDGE manufactures cutting edges and related tools for the meat industry and the wood industry. Founded in 1993, EDGE's mission is to bring quality and value to the traditional cutting edge business and innovation to the related equipment industry.

In addition, EDGE has introduced creative engineering to this business to explore "what could be" and "what should it be".

In Pevely, EDGE produces a full line of meat cutting band saw blades, wood cutting band saw blades, as well as hand saw blades for the meat cutting industry. Circular saw blades, and a professional quality cutlery sharpener are also produced in Pevely. On the related equipment side, EDGE designs and builds a line of professional butt flash welding machines; and a unique cut-to-length machine.

EDGE Manufacturing West in Santa Maria, California (about 2 hours away from L.A.) is a welding service center for area customers.
